Twelve eighth notes per bar, usually felt as four dotted-quarter beats. Tempo counts eighth notes: ♪ = 240 gives dotted quarter = 80. Choose “3+3+3+3, in four” from Grouping to accent clicks one, four, seven and ten.
Keep the other clicks audible to hear all three subdivisions of each larger beat. To hear only the four larger beats, leave Clicks per beat at 1 and set the other eight beat buttons to silent. These are two different ways to practise the same passage.
You can get the same click spacing in 4/4 at ♩ = 80 with Clicks per beat set to 3, though the accent levels differ. Use this 12/8 page when you want to control individual eighth-note clicks; the beat buttons let you choose which ones to hear.
