Your practice stays yours.

The iOS app

Gradus has no accounts, analytics, advertising, tracking, or network or cloud services. The app does not send data off your device. We do not receive your practice activity or information about how you use the app.

Depending on your Apple backup settings, locally stored app data may be included in a device backup managed by Apple and your settings. These backups are separate from the app and are not sent to us.

The online metronome

Gradus Online Metronome runs in your browser. JavaScript powers the tool’s pages. Click sounds are generated on your device. The tool does not access your microphone or record audio.

The tool uses no cookies, local storage, session storage or browser database. Its only stored content is an offline cache of its own pages and assets, so it can work without a connection after loading. You can remove that cache by clearing this website’s data in your browser settings.

Your tempo, meter and other settings are represented in the page’s URL, so you can bookmark or share them. Anyone you share the URL with can see those settings. Loading a URL may include it in the hosting request information described below. The tool’s full pages also use the website analytics described below. The embedded metronome does not load analytics.

Pressing the embed snippet’s Copy button writes that snippet to your clipboard. The tool never reads your clipboard. Other websites can embed the metronome; those websites have their own privacy practices.

The website

This website uses Vercel Web Analytics to understand aggregate visits to its pages, including the homepage, this privacy page and the online metronome’s full pages. It does not use analytics cookies, advertising or cross-site tracking. There are no accounts or forms for collecting personal information.

Analytics may include the page visited, referring website or page, approximate location, and browser, operating-system and device categories. We remove query strings and fragments from analytics page URLs, so the metronome settings in those URLs are not included. We do not send custom events about your practice or use of the controls.

Vercel uses a temporary visitor hash derived from the incoming request and discards it after 24 hours. We receive aggregate reports. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, this website does not load analytics. Read more about Vercel Web Analytics privacy. These website analytics do not apply to the iOS app.

Website hosting is separate from the offline app. When you visit the published website, Vercel may process standard connection information, such as your IP address and request logs, to deliver the pages and protect its service. See Vercel’s privacy notice for more information.
