3/4 metronome
Keys: Space start/stop · T tap · ↑↓ tempo ±1, Shift ±5 · ←→ between beats, Enter to cycle
Three quarter-note beats per bar, with a louder click on beat one. Tempo counts quarter notes: at 90, each bar lasts two seconds. Count “one, two, three” and listen for the return to one.
To practise a waltz passage with less help from the metronome, leave Clicks per beat at 1 and set beats two and three to silent. You will hear one click per bar. Keep all three beats in your count, then restore the missing clicks to check your timing.
You can also move the accent. Set beat one to normal and beat two or three to loud, then play the same phrase again. Use the pattern that suits your music; the first-beat accent is a starting setting, not an instruction to stress every downbeat when you play.
