Five eighth notes per bar, with Tempo measured in eighth notes per minute. The first click is accented by default. At ♪ = 240, each eighth note lasts a quarter of a second and the bar lasts one and a quarter seconds.
Choose 2+3 or 3+2 from Grouping. These patterns divide the bar into a short group and a long group, with the order reversed. Count “one, two; one, two, three” for 2+3, keeping the eighth notes evenly spaced through both groups.
Start with every eighth audible. When the pattern feels familiar, leave Clicks per beat at 1 and silence the clicks between the group starts. You will hear the unequal spacing between the two accents more clearly. Add the other clicks back if you begin stretching or squeezing either group.
