7/4 metronome
Keys: Space start/stop · T tap · ↑↓ tempo ±1, Shift ±5 · ←→ between beats, Enter to cycle
Seven quarter-note beats per bar, with a louder first beat. Tempo counts quarter notes. The time signature tells you how much music fits in a bar; the tempo setting determines how quickly it passes.
Grouping offers 2+2+3, 3+2+2 and 2+3+2. For a 4+3 pattern, choose 2+2+3, then change beat three from loud to normal. That leaves accents on beats one and five. For 3+4, choose 3+2+2 and change beat six to normal.
Play a short phrase against both patterns and listen to where it begins and ends. At a slow tempo, Clicks per beat at 2 can help you place the eighth notes between quarter-note clicks. Leave Swing at Straight for even eighths. Return to one click per beat when you want to practise without that extra reference.
