Sixteenth-note metronome

Four clicks per beat in 4/4 at ♩ = 120. The beat click and three lighter clicks mark the sixteenth notes. Tempo counts quarter notes, so this setting produces eight clicks per second.
Count “one e and a, two e and a” along with the metronome. Try a short pattern that includes rests, keeping the count going where you do not play. The clicks give you a reference for notes that fall between the numbered beats.
If four clicks per beat feel crowded, lower Tempo or change Clicks per beat to 2. With Swing at Straight, you will hear the eighth notes and can place the remaining sixteenths between them. Return to four clicks when you want to check those positions more closely, then try the passage with one click per beat.
