Triplet metronome

Three evenly spaced clicks per beat in 4/4 at ♩ = 120. The beat click is followed by two lighter clicks, dividing each quarter note into eighth-note triplets. Tempo counts quarter notes; at this setting, there are six clicks per second.
Try counting “one-trip-let, two-trip-let” and playing a note on every click. Keep the three parts equal. When you can do that comfortably, switch Clicks per beat to 1 and continue playing the same triplets against the main beat.
For control over individual triplet positions, use 12/8 instead. Set its Tempo to ♪ = 360 to match this page's ♩ = 120, choose “3+3+3+3, in four,” and leave Clicks per beat at 1. You can then silence individual eighth-note clicks with the beat buttons.
